    Description

White Perch fillets - wild caught in Canada and flash frozen (IQF).

White perch are a smaller fish native to the east coast and live in brackish water. They are not native to the Great Lakes region but have been there for many years and have become a popular game fish and are quite a tasty panfish.

Technically white perch is not part of the perch family and is actually part of the bass family and species is Morone Americana. So this is not the typical yellow perch that would catch across the midwest it's actually a local delicacy up and down the east coast.

All that said, the price is reasonable and it's wild caught in Canada by our regular suppliers so give it a shot.

First time I tried these. I much prefer the yellow perch but these will do. The shipment arrived on time and still frozen solid. Perhaps as I have more meals of this fist I will grow to enjoy them more.

They were good and fresh. Some pieces were a bit thin. But you just need to cook with the skin on ..then peel the skin off so that you don't lose any of the meat. My husband and I are minimizing our red meat intake so fish was the next best option.

The white perch is not at all like yellow perch. I can only afford this once a year with my fixed income. Frying in butter the fish was not tasty but very fishy tasting. So frying it was much better. Still miss the yellow perch but have to wait for a few months. Even if you get it back I can't afford it.
