Sunfish / Bluegill fillets--11 pound box--headless, scaled, skin on frozen fillets. We've recently updated this product to be vacuum-packed in roughly 1 pound packages. 

Bluegills go by many names depending on the area of the country--Sunfish, Brim, Bream, Pumpkinseed, Coppernose, call them what you want and order the wild caught frozen fillets online.

Sunnies are what I remember catching as a kid on family fishing trips and cabin weekends.  They bite like crazy when you find them and fight a good battle.  They aren’t as big as the walleye, but they are just as tasty—and with WalleyeDirect.com you don’t have to scale and clean the little ones. 

Because these are smaller fish the size of the fillets can vary with the season.  (It depends what we catch--sometimes bigger fillets, sometimes a bunch of little ones) 

PLEASE NOTE - We've had trouble with processing quality on bluegill lately. They have been smaller and the cleaning hasn't been up to our normal standards. There will be some bones and scales until we can find a new source and we have decided not to use farm raised from China as others have done.

Just had my second bluegill meal (deep fried with a light tangy breading) and they reminded me of my boyhood days fishing with dad in Mud Lake, Michigan. So tasty and flavorful. I personally ate a full pound in one sitting! The fish were excellent although a few were pretty small and skinny. This is the second time I have ordered these and I will order more until I can get some yellow perch at a reasonable price (hint, hint). Keep fishing' and I'll keep eating'.

I had not had bluegill since, as a kid in Wisconsin, we fried them up, having freshly caught them. I remembered them fondly. I could not wait to get those treats into my mouth. I had already tried the walleye, and was not disappointed, giving them a '10' rating out of ten possible points. I fully expected the bluegill to also be a '10.' Was I ever wrong! They are a '20' out of ten possible points. I am not kidding! They were way better than I remembered, and therefor way better than I expected.

They are delicious and we love them! This is the first time ordering this product and we found we had to individually clean them to remove scales that were still attached. Since the pieces were smaller than anticipated, we had to fry up two pounds per meal instead of just one pound. All in all, though, we sure enjoyed them! We are hoping one day you will have the Crappie available again!

Bluegills are fine but the shipping with FedEx is a problem. Shipment was a day late and there was no, repeat NO, dry ice inside! It had all melted or changed to a gas. Fish was only frozen in the middle of some packs and cool, not cold, on the edges. The product appears to be edible but I think the shipment method/dry ice amount needs to be addressed. First time I have had this problem and with the summer coming will probably not order again until weather is cooler here.

I'm an avid lady fisher, and I often catch bream much bigger BIGGER than what Walleye delivered to me! Very disappointed! To make matters worse, I called Walleye to voice my concern as a frequent customer, and the woman that I spoke with could care less as evidenced by her nonchalant tone and words.
