      Description

      Frozen Ruby Red Rainbow Trout fillets-- 5 pound package of 8-10 ounce fillets. This used to be an 11 pound pack and we are testing repacking as 5 pounds to see if that works better so you aren't committing to as many meals.

      Frozen, farm raised and as close to wild-caught as you can find for rainbow trout.

      There is a lot of confusion with with rainbow trout and steelhead because they are the same species. These are considered Steelhead based on the pinkish/red color that they obtain from their diet. So the taste is similar to a milder salmon.

      Rainbow Trout is the most popular freshwater fish in the US so we had to find the best source for our customers - give this a shot and you won't go back.

      I was impressed with the taste of these trout, these are so easy to to broil in my flavor wave type oven. Just place a sheet of parchment paper on the rack lightly season with smoke and creole, and some lemon. So moist and delicious.

      We split two orders of the Ruby Red Trout with my brother (4.5 adults), and together we exhausted the supply in two months. The Ruby Red fillets seems bigger than Idaho trout our local grocer carries. Everyone loves it. We'll be re-ordering soon!

      I have really enjoyed the freshness and quality of your lake perch fillets and will definitely order these again. However the farm raised steel head trout and rainbow trout have a very fishy flavor which is not very palatable. I am not looking for anything from you but thought you should know I'm being very objective in my review. I even tried soaking the fillets in milk but that didn't help. I gave some to my barn cat and he wouldn't eat it. I am an avid fisherman and seafood person and do know what flavors I am perceiving. I was hoping they would be as good as the perch.
