Smelt - Dressed - 11 lbs

The smelt arrive in a big box so I bagged them and put directly into freezer. Taste wonderful and remind me of my childhood. Aweso.e!

My first attempt at the dressed smelt, I failed to cook quite enough for everyone at dinner that night and I nearly had a mutiny on my hands! These are excellent! Now I'm experimenting with different ways to enjoy them besides right out of the pan...

I used to dipnet pails full of these from a river in my Wisconsin hometown. These finger sized fish are fresh and tasty

I had a small issue with my order and Walleye direct was on it, exceeding my expectations. It is wonderful to see that kind of understanding and assistance. If I could give them. More stars are would.

Overall we love smelt yours very good. This is the second time we’ve ordered first time it came in 1 pound packages and it’s my fault that I didn’t read the description this time I figured it was just the same so we got 11 pound block of smelt not real convenient, but like I said my fault and no I won’t be ordering them again unless they’re in 1 pound packages sorry

Bought 11 lbs. All I do is grab a handful or 2, thaw them out, dust them with a little cornmeal/flour and fry up. Excellent!

Delicious, I have purchased smelt years ago, but they were hard to find in store

Smelt are definitely small fish but are tasty. i ordered them to eat "plain" for myself for an allergy diet, but cooked them battered and fried for my husband and son, and they loved them. They're like high-protein french fries!

Originally from the Midwest and knowing the pleasure of smelting in the spring, now in Colorado. I’ve really missed those small delectable fish. They’ve been hard to find for a long time. Then I found Walleye direct. Thank you. I wish I were independently wealthy. I’d order them far more often. However retired Spiritual Care Directors/ disabled Vietnam Vets. Are not that financially fluid. Great place I’ll order again in the future.

I've wanted smelts since I moved to Arkansas five years ago. Was really excited to received my order. Very satisfied, will order again.

Just what I was looking for. Arrive fast, perfectly frozen and without added chemical preservatives such as carbon dioxide. etc that are often added in many other frozen seafood which is likely no good for you and certainly takes away from the taste in my humble opinion

The Smelt were excellent quality. The fried up just right. They also were the right size 5’. Shred them with family and friends, they were delighted.

Ordered 12 pounds of lake smelt. The order came rapidly and was completely frozen. We both enjoy smelt and ate them in our childhood. They cannot be found in this area. The fish taste fresh and are delicious. We look forward to many good meals. Will order again.

I first ordered 12# (June, 2021). When I thawed the first one lb. pkg and fried it, I knew it was very good. When you thaw a pkg., it smells as fresh as if you just caught them. So I ordered another 12#. I am now good to go for the entire summer.

We were pleased again with the 2nd order of smelt shipped to Texas. Packaging arrived safely and very frozen. Thank you for offering your smelt!!

The sooo welcomed dressed Smelt delivery was flawless, as a New York finger lakes fisherman it has been so many years since I sank my teeth in these delicious fish I can't tell you the anticipation and without disappointment the taste was beautiful.
