Lake Trout Fillets - 5 lbs

Last night, I made your Baked Lake Trout. It turned out excellent!!! The trout was moist and absolutely perfect! I did not have the avocado salad as my husband does not care for avocados, but we ate it with Broccoli—what a great flavor, etc. We are from WI, and I miss having good fish on hand. Thank you for the recipe, too. Next time, I will use my Dad's beer batter breading (light, thin batter) and fry it. Can't wait! Nancy S.

I've enjoyed salmon for years because of the high omega-3 content, and recently discovered that lake trout also has some of the highest levels of any fish, and in some cases has the highest. Our brains need DHA, one of the omega 3s. It's estimated 80-90% of Americans are deficient. Keep the skin on since the layer of fat right underneath the skin is the highest in omega 3 content. Walleye Direct fish is excellent! Very satisfied with the product and will keep buying.

My wife and I love fish. Both catching them and eating them. But I have to be honest, getting quality fish, like the Lake Trout we just received from Walleye Direct makes having fish for "dinner tonight" so much easier. I have ordered the lake trout at least 10 - 15 times. Only 2 or 3 times were the filets small. Only 1 time can I honestly say I wasn't satisfied. The quality and flavor of the fish has always been excellent! I absolutely love it! And will definitely continue to order it.

I have to admit that lake trout turned out to, unexpectedly, not be a favorite for myself or for my family. We have always been lovers of trout in general, and most of our experience with them has been with the freshly caught variety, though we have also enjoyed trout at restaurants. I now know that lake trout is quite different from other variations of trout. We experienced it as much fattier and having a much stronger flavor. That stronger flavor puts me in memory of the cod liver oil I was required to imbibe as a child. Some people may love it, but for my family, it's now off the list.

On time. Frozen good. Noticed some fillets are a fresh red looking meat is good. Some other fillets are kinda a dirty whitish meat color? Old meat???

Sadly, the fish was very dry and had a bitter taste. I broiled it once and the other time light flour and pan fry quickly. It tastes like very old frozen fish, not at all like frozen Lake Trout i got from Bailey's Harbour. So I am stuck with 8 lbs of frozen yuk.

I was intially put on a waiting list, but received a notification email quite quickly that it was back in stock - after which I pounced on making the purchase. And very glad I did! The package arrived on time and and in great condition. The filet meat is delicious; so far, I've roasted it whole and made fritters with it, and both methods have produced fantastic results (especially the fritters!).

These I do not fish for but love them smoked really liked the individual packaging they came in. Tried them broiled and they were excellent as well

Sorry to say this. My second time ordering the trout. This time it looked mushy, rammed in sealed bags with tail end all curled up. Had to make a white sauce just to eat it. Last time I baked it with nothing. Nice and tender and not dry at all. I will think twice about ordering again. $600 is a lot for fish and second time around I was expecting more than what I got.

We did not care for the Lake Trout fillets. I did re order,, and received the RUBY RED STEELHEAD TROUT... And we luv them... ,, and I will order again.. they are sooo good

Very good fish.

This was my first time having lake trout and I can say I loved it. Baked with some spices and also just plain, " I enjoy most" air fried the skin also for my dogs
