Freshwater Sampler - 4 X 2 lbs

As promised. Great.

The Northern Pike fillets in this sampler were quite thin and had no flavor when I coated them with the Shore Lunch breading and deep fried them at 350 F for about 1 3/4 minutes. Bring back the Smelt!

Just cooked up some of the Bluegill last night. OMG, they were soooo yummy! I've also eaten some of the Walleye and can't wait to try the rest. I know it will all be great!

The package arrived with all the fish frozen solid. I have not sampled everything yet, but what I have had has been very tasty.

Dry ice gone but everything still frozen. Everything taste like I caught them myself.

Every product was good. This was a great way to get introduced to Walleye Direct. I will be making future purchases and have already recommended it to my brother. We grew up in Cleveland and now both live in southern states. We grew up with a family tradition of smelts on Christmas eve....... They are impossible in find here in the south. We, also always enjoyed eating Walleye but having the opportunity to taste some of Walleye Direct's other fresh water fish broadened future purchases.

I've missed fresh water fish since moving to the West Coast. This was my first time ordering and I will definitely be ordering again. I was worried about the fish being thawed by the time I received them, but I had nothing to worry about. Everything arrived as advertised and the first fish dinner was fantastic!

Fish arrived well pack. This was my first order, and I liked the way that they were individually frozen. The perch were butterflied fillets, (both sides connected to the belly). Like any fresh fish, they need a little going over. Like the Perch and the Bluegill, check for scales; Smelt, check the insides; I just skin the Walleye. I use thin to medium Drake mix, Don't care for lots of breading on my fish. I like to taste the fish. All and all, was a very good deal. I just ordered 5lbs more of the Perch.

Sampler arrived still frozen but it was getting close as there wasn't very much of the 10 pounds of dry ice left when it was delivered! I vacuum packed all of the fish for individual meals (one person) while they were still frozen - extends their edible life.

Fish came frozen and fresh in a timely manner. Didn't care for the Smelt (too small)! The fish did not come labeled in the box but I figured it out. There are bones in the fish even though they are filets. But overall I would order again but just the Bluegill or Perch or Crappie not the sampler pack.

I got the sampler as a Christmas present for my brother. He grew up in Minnesota, too and loves Walleye Directs products. He's a big fan of walleyes and bluegill. Too bad WD was out of crappies-they'll have to wait until Lent comes around!

My shipment arrived in a timely fashion and was solidly frozen. The packaging was adequately protective, even though the plastic packages were only wrapped, not sealed closed. But except for the prepackaged smelt there were NO LABELS to identify the different fish!! I figured out the walleye from your pictures but I can't, for the life of me, distinguish bluegill from perch! CLEARLY, I'm a freshwater fish newbie, but am I the ONLY newbie customer you've ever had?? Stick a label inside each package! This is the only reason my rating was four stars rather than five. I DID fry up some bluegill? perch? (the one with the two filets attached across the back) and it was delicious! (BTW which WAS it? I tried calling but I got stuck in an endless robot-answered loop.)

This is the best fish I've ever purchased, either from a store or a restaurant. For those that complain about the prices being too high, I calculated the fish I caught on my last trip to be 22.00 a pound, so WalleyeDirect comes in way under that.

In the past month I have ordered 4 of the freshwater samplers. Orders arrive fast and frozen. The fish is fantastic!

We haven't used the product yet. But with the other products being great. We have no dout the product will be great

My goodness I had no idea of what to expect with the package deal from Groupon but my family was very pleased! My husband used to fish and catch the crappy and blue gill and since working so much has not had time to do so when he could order what he wanted he was thrilled. The Walleye was phenomenal! Light and flaky just as it should be. We are definitely ordering more.
