      Description

      10 Pounds of Canadian walleye fillets with a special beer batter breading. The sizes of the fillets vary more than our raw frozen fillets but range from 3 ounces to 5 ounces.

      You have been asking and after numerous taste tests we have finally found a pre-battered frozen walleye fillet we are proud to sell on our site. Technically this is a beer batter, but it might look more like a breading to some people. Just take a fillet and drop it onto some hot oil and get ready for a fabulous meal. These skinless fillets are from the same source as our regular walleye and now you don't have to mess with the batter.

      For the walleye purists, I would recommend going with raw fillets so you can make your own batter or breading, this is more for busy people who want their walleye and don't want to deal with the mess. 

      INGREDIENTS - Walleye, Bleached Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oil (Canola, Cottonseed and/or Sunflower), Ale (water, Malted Barley, Hops, Yeast), Yellow Corn Flour (contains 2% or Less of: Modified Corn Starch, sugar, Salt, Spice, White Corn Flour Flavors, Leavening (Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate)

      COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

      Deep Fry – Place frozen product in preheated fryer at 350 degrees for 5-6  minutes or until golden brown.

      To Bake – Place frozen fillets on a lightly oiled sheet pan.

      CONVECTION OVEN: Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 10-12 minutes. Flipping halfway through with fan on high.

      CONVENTIONAL OVEN: Preheat oven to 425 degrees and bake for 14-16 minutes. Flipping halfway through.

      NOTE: Cook to an internal Temperature of 165 degree minimum

      This is my first order of the battered filets and they did not disappoint. We grew up in Minnesota and walleye is our fish of choice, but I am unable to buy locally. Filets arrived still hard frozen. Large filets easily separated and easy to prepare. We will enjoy many meals. I definitely would order again.

      I fixed (lowered-heat frying, in safflower oil, about 9 minutes) this superbly battered Walleye for my doctor's lunch yesterday, and as he ate, I heard him "mmm-mmmm-ing" and making a list of people he wants to gift it to. That's the best testimony, right? No finer fish on earth! (It doesn't leave your house smelling like cooked fish either!) Great service too!!

      A meal fit for a king! It reminds me of my younger years growing up in Wisconsin, where walleye and lake perch were Friday staples. Deep fry at 375 degrees for 41/2 minutes and enjoy.

      I'm giving this item 3 stars based solely on the price. Living on the river, walleye is everywhere here. Each filet, while beautiful, is over $8. That's too much for my area, US Canadian border. If you live somewhere walleye isn't available, then you may think it's reasonable.

      I was nervous about the pricing. However, when my COOLER arrived, I was impressed with 10 pounds of battered Walleye. It seems to me that all the fillets were the same size, and I guess 16" to 18 " in length. I lived 16 years in Minnesota and have NEVER seen this many walleye fillets this size. IMPRESSIVE. Taste is wonderful. I have already spread the word via family and friends, with a few samples. Will buy more soon!

      The Walleye arrived in perfect condition and frozen. The size are wonderful and very tasty and not fishy. Warm memories flooded my senses as we fixed our first dinner of walleye. My dad fished walleye on Lake Erie for many, many years and provided our Christmas Eve dinners every year. We also had fish fries every Friday night with family and friends. I have so missed my Dad, the walleyes, and fishing with a great Dad. Thank you for providing a resource to obtain some of the best walleye.

      I have purchased un-breaded walleye fillets before a number of times from Walleye Direct and found them to be excellent. My wife loves them on the George Foreman grill with just a little EVO and seasonings. I was raised on walleye fried in oil and breaded in cracker crumbs. Its a bit messy on the stove top, but these beer battered fillets are just as good without a big mess. Will buy them again
