Lake Trout Fillets - 5 lbs

Product arrived absolutely frozen solid- nice, individually-packaged fillets. Prepared all 11 pounds on my new smoker; taste reminded me of a trip to the north shore of Lake Superior about 30 years ago with my parents- we had smoked lake trout for lunch and I never forgot the flavor, texture or wonderful fatty goodness of that fish. Thank you.

Now have experience of the rainbow trout, the white fish, the yellow perch and finally, this last order of lake trout. Tasty, fresh and arrived frozen. Very happy with this company and shall continue doing business with them as you truly get what you pay for.

I like this fish the taste of it & that is not farm raised . I hope it is correct information I have.I am going to reorder as soon we done with that package.Please just keep catching more. For ever.Thank you.

Packaging was OK, but borderline problematic for my location. There were a few slivers of dry ice left,, so everything was still frozen when I went to pick up at UPS building early morning. If I had waited for delivery (late afternoon here) it would probably have started thawing already. I would suggest placing the styrofoam container inside a heavy duty corrugated carton box for the 3 day shipping areas. Also some of the 'vacuum' sealed bags are clearly anything but. It appears that the seals at the edges are made too narrow and they occasionally miss a point, so there is no vacuum seal at all. Excellent Lake Trout. We can't get fresh water fish here on a regular basis, so it's great to find a reliably source.

The filets are excellent. There are no bones or attached fins, and they taste great. I poach it in about 1/2 inch of water and use a thermometer to heat it to 145 degrees Fahrenheit, and then shut the heat off, wait about another 5 minutes for it to rise to 160 degrees, and then enjoy the filet. After the broth cools down a little, I add a little salt to it and drink it. Tastes great.

Fish is awesome, we like it very much. It feels very fresh compared to the one we buy from grocery store even when they say their t fish "just arrived today".. We are very happy with purchase and quick delivery, the only problem is- we want to order whitefish now and you are out of stock!

I rate the Canadian Lake Trout (11 lbs.) frozen as a 4 verse a 5 only because there exists absolutely no information on what specific type of Canadian Lake Trout I received. The healthiest is Siscowet from the deep waters; there is also Canadian Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, etc... Outside of that point and the shipping cost (1/3 of the total cost), I would rate this a 5.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with the lake trout. I have difficulty finding good lake trout and I am so excited to come to know Walleye Direct. You did not have lake trout available the first several times I checked your web site, but I signed up for an automatic e-mail when it came in stock, which worked beautifully. I placed my first order immediately ! The packaging was outstanding and the fish is exceptional. Although expensive ( with the shipping charge), I feel as if I received real value for my money.

arrived in excellent shape packed in dry ice and frozen prepared a fillet the evening they arrived, haven't had lake trout since I left Wisconsin 10 years ago. Had also ordered walleye fillets earlier and they to were excellent.Thanks for the memories

The Lake Triout is fabulous. We're grilling it and find it to be meaty, firm,fresh and very tasty. Love it. We will be customers for a long time.

SIZE IS VERY GOOD, PACKAGING IS EXCELENT, PRICE IS OK, WOULD LIKE TO SEE SMALLER LOTS ie; 5 POUND INSTEAD OF 10 POUND LOTS.
